8-Speed Automatic Gearbox

This gearbox is available on the Drive-E powertrain vehicles. The new transmission is great because it shifts quietly, and there is less noise at higher speeds. It significantly improves fuel economy, and will include the Auto Start/Stop function.

 

ECO+ Functionality

ECO+ Functionality is a fuel saving technology that optimizes shift points and locks up control in the automatic gearbox, engine control, and throttle response, while also introducing Start/Stop technology. ECO+ is activated through a button in the center stack. Doing this can easily improve your fuel economy by 5% simply depending on driving style, temperature, and climate conditions.

 

Features of ECO+:

• Start/Stop:

  • This will stop the engine when the vehicle comes to a standstill. Fuel is being conserved since the engine switches off when the brake is being pressed. Once the brake is released, the engine switches on immediately, and the vehicle is ready to go. This function can be disabled at any time by the driver.

• ECO-coast:

  • ECO-coast helps conserve kinetic energy of the vehicle by allowing the vehicle to coast. To get full use of ECO-coast, it is important to plan driving ahead and anticipate your traffic situation.

• ECO-climate:

  
  
  • ECO-climate changes climate control settings and auxiliary loads. The air conditioner is disconnected and auxiliary loads are reduced, but the A/C can be engaged again by pressing the A/C button. The information in the center display is changed from auto climate to ECO-climate when the ECO+ button is active.
  • When you change into sport mode and move the gear lever into S-position, the ECO+ symbol in the instrument cluster is turned off until the regular drive mode is reactivated and the gear lever moves back into D-position. ECO-climate remains active as long as its button is not deactivated.
