State Vehicle Inspections

New Hampshire State Inspection and Emissions Test at Lovering

Lovering Volvo of Meredith, a short drive from Plymouth and many other towns in the Lakes Region, is an authorized center for New Hampshire state vehicle inspections. All new vehicles must receive authorized inspections and emissions tests within ten days of registration. Owners must have the vehicle re-inspected every year by the end of their birth month. If the vehicle changes ownership, it must be re-inspected within ten days of the new registration, even if the old inspection sticker has not expired.

Life at Lovering is Easy

Having your car in the shop can make your day difficult. We offer several services to help make this time a little more relaxing:

  • A comfortable waiting area with free Wi-Fi
  • Free shuttle rides within a ten mile radius of Lovering Volvo of Meredith
  • Low-cost loaner vehicles
  • Discounts on area rentals

After your vehicle passes its inspection, we will present you with a Vehicle Inspection Report (VIR), transmit the results electronically to the DMV, and present you with a valid inspection sticker.

The Inspection

The inspection itself is a thorough process, during which our technicians and mechanics check each of the following:

  • Brake system
  • Steering, front end, and suspension
  • Tires and wheels
  • Fuel system
  • The electrical system, horn, and defroster
  • Lights and reflectors
  • Body, chassis, and bumper height
  • Glass and mirrors

An Onboard Diagnostics test (OBD) is also performed on vehicles from model year of 1996 or newer. This test helps our technicians to catch problems that may otherwise go undetected.
