Those in the Meredith area know that Mother Nature be pretty unpredictable this time of year. That's why Lovering Volvo in Meredith believes it's important to transport your loved ones to and fro in a vehicle that offers ultimate protection. However, until you actually drive a model for yourself, it can be difficult to tell just how safe it really is. That's where the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) comes in to play.
Every year the trusty source takes a hard look over new Volvo models and others. The institute then grades the vehicles based on how they performed in the following tests: front offset, side impact, roof strength and rear crash protection. Those which receive straight "G" (for "good") test scorings are given an "IIHS 2012 TOP SAFETY PICK" title.
Proving that Volvo truly knows safety best, the IIHS awarded five of the automakers stellar models with a safety pick star:
- Volvo S80- Volvo S60
- Volvo C30
- Volvo XC60
- Volvo XC90
All safety nods are for the previous models made between 2010 and 2012. While we don't have time to delve deeply into each individual Volvo vehicle, Lovering Volvo in Meredith is happy to share some of the key driver/passenger protection features that make our favorite automaker the right choice for safety. Models such as the S60 do more than just protect during an accident; they come with danger prevention measures like Collision Warning, Rear Fog Light and Lane Departure Warning. In addition, most Volvo vehicles are equipped with child protection equipment such as airbags and ISOFIX/LATCH to attach safety seats.
